This page explains what Tic Tac Toe stores and why.
On this device
Your guest player name and your light or dark choice are saved in this browser. Local and bot rooms are saved in this browser tab so a match can survive a reload. Local and bot room data is not sent to the online game service. If you are signed in with Google, the online room you are seated in is also remembered in this browser, so Play can take you back to it after the browser is closed. Without signing in, your seat is remembered only for this tab.
Accounts and purchases
Playing online without signing in creates no account and does not use Firebase Authentication: your browser keeps a random player ID for the tab. If you continue with Google, Google supplies your account identity to Firebase. We store your player ID, display name, profile timestamps, game-style preference, theme access, and Plus Pass access or payment references. We do not store your Google password or card details. Paying with crypto hands the payment to NOWPayments, which collects it on its own page; we keep only the payment reference. Emails you sent the developer earlier about access or payment, with your email address, your player ID, and anything attached, stay in the developer's email inbox and are used only to grant and check your access.
Online rooms
Online rooms store the room code, player IDs and names, whether a player has an active Plus Pass (never its expiry date), connection state, seat types, board setup, moves, winner, and timing needed for reconnect and cleanup. The public lobby shows only the host name and seat counts. People with the room code or link can see player names and live room state. A guest room, made by someone who is not signed in or opened to guests, is written directly by the players' browsers and is open to anyone who has its code, so treat it as casual: it is not secure and never counts toward Rank. Disconnected seats are removed after a grace period (during a match, a bot takes over the seat instead), and empty rooms are cleaned up.
Rankings
Eligible four-player online matches add each player's display name, wins, losses, and whether they have an active Plus Pass (never its expiry date) to the public leaderboard. Match result IDs are kept to prevent the same result from being counted twice.
Your choices
You can change your player name, sign out, leave an online room, and clear this site's browser data. Email us to ask about access, correction, or deletion of account data.
